Upgrade using points

I have an upcoming booking from MEL - CNS and return. The fare class booked was elevate . When I logon to Velocity portal and try to bid for upgrade using points , it says my booking is not eligible for points upgrade.

As it is a domestic flight , not sure why my booking is not eligible for upgrade.

Did anyone have the same issue.

I have had this show up and from memory when I have called velocity they have been able to do it when a reward flight was available.

Can verify that calling them, you can often upgrade if there is availability. I have had this same "Booking Ineligible" error for about 12 months now. I basically have to call Virgin each and every time I want to use points to upgrade. Really bad user experience and can't seem to pinpoint why this is an issue.
