Sitting in the CX Flounge in MNL (start of new DONE :D), was given an invitation card to the Flounge despite neither the appropriate status nor class of travel. Glitch in my favour?

It is no Wing/Pier F though......
(alas lounge invite showing JCL for my transit at HKIA)

Well - IMO, the CX Flounge at MNL is nothing to brag about - been there three times in the past two months and will be back there again next week. It is better than the QF or CX J lounges, but only just and all have the same food and drink.

Well done QF009 and just to add to this story.

My sister is on her first big trip to Europe and departed SIN for LHR yesterday. I gave her my PG to make travel a little easier and when she rocked up to the SIN J lounge she was given "an invitation card to the Flounge despite neither the appropriate status nor class of travel".

Maybe they are targeting oneworld sapphire members with a taste of the good stuff?

If they comped her into the MEL or SYD Flounge I would be hugely impressed.

Looking forward to the accompanying TR for this lounge visit and an answer to the important question. What champers were they serving? The SIN lounge apparently had Joseph Perrier.

Sorry - I didnt mean to rain on your parade with my previous post. Shame that it didn't happen in HKG or SYD/MEL where the FLounge is actually a bit better than the normal J Lounge. Well done for getting the freebie - let hope it is the beginning of a trend and you get upgraded lounge access at some of your other ports.

AA Plat / AA Exec Plat - so hard to tell the difference.

I take it you are writing a trip report for the next xONE adventure.

Well yes i did mention that in my OP. I was just wondering about the principle behind it. NAIA T1 is dreary on the whole to say the least. Just 2 more flights to EXP and I'd be getting Flounge access in my own right so I guess the reason will indeed remain a mystery...

sr81 - unfortunately the CX Flounge isn't v "Floungey." No champers. Just some soft drinks and Filipino beer.

aubs - Am breaking the DONE4 up into several different trips, no mega 'round the world' journey this time. Was traveling on the last few coupons of my last DONE4 before this. Using only 4 coupons of the new ticket for this trip to visit Bali and to go home (MNL-xHKG-DPS-xHKG-MEL), so it's the same TR as the one I'm in the midst of writing.

This might be the key. Once as an AA Plat I got F lounge access in SIN as they read my Plat status as OWE...

And CX status matched me from AA Plat (OWS) to CX Diamond (OWE) so there may be indeed be a trend...
