Upgrades and Points Transfer

Hi. Newbie here. Firstly, there is a classic rewards flight available for our preferred route but we need to transfer points from our Business Rewards account: how long does this take to show up in our personal accounts? Does it happen immediately or is there an "admin" time? Secondly, there are only economy seats available, no Classic Rewards seats show up in Premium or Business. Can I simply use points and/or pay for an upgrade? I am too old and grumpy to do a long haul in economy these days.... Thanks in advance.

Immediately.

Secondly, there are only economy seats available, no Classic Rewards seats show up in Premium or Business. Can I simply use points and/or pay for an upgrade? I am too old and grumpy to do a long haul in economy these days.... Thanks in advance.

The best you could do is book the economy flight in points and put in a request for classic rewards upgrade. You can also monitor your route on the days and potentially alternative business class options open up close to departure in which case you can call up to change to that with a small fee.
