Sounds excellent! We are thinking we'll grab a table and be there from 4pm.. I'm not familiar with the area so I'm happy to be guided by the locals :)

You are correct - I leave PER tomorrow (23rd) @ 5:15pm (VA471), so by that time, your soirée will be probably over. It will certainly be over when I arrive back in BNE (11:55pm). Alas, I have children minding duties for the long weekend to make up for my extended trip away. We may, yet again, fail to meet up. We really need to swap calendars like George Clooney and his leading lady in the movie after which you are named :D

Thanks for the heads up via PM UpInTheAir:).

I'm actually heading out for a couple tomorrow after work. I think we will be going to Sabotage on Wickham Street which sells Pacific Ale (just for the benefit of BillyTheFIsh).

So if the draw of Pacific Ale and the Valley is enough, I can recommend Sabotage as good place for a drink at that time on Friday.

... and as a happy coincidence, the Trans' website now claims to have Pac Ale on tap ! (Which they didn't have it last time I was there.)

(Sorry Mr_Orange, you'll struggle to get me off George Street on a Friday arvo, much less aaaalllll the way out the Valley!)

Tempted to cut short my trip and head back early, however likely I'd lose the J seat - and that just wouldn't work!
