Upstairs J on QF 747

I'll be honest here .... I take every possible opportunity to gloat about my status so that the scum know exactly what I think of them. I have no qualms about walking through the curtain and sneering back at the pax as I bless their pathetic toilets with my noble urine, and then pausing to survey their squalid conditions with an air of bemusement.

I keep it up as long as I can stand slumming it ..... or until an FA notices me there and escorts me back to economy.

Cheers,

Andrew

P.S It seems that WP's are well-named.

Sat in 18A in upper deck on the way back from LAX the other night, and don't think I'll do it again. There was nothing particularly wrong with the service, but it did seem very much like we were the "last" to get everything:
  • Amenity kits were not only the older style, but the female's older style kit. We were told new kits were not available, and by the time they got to us upstairs, male kits were no longer available. Pax downstairs had men's kits. (Not that it really bothered me).
  • PJ's were not offered, and when requested, were available in L/XL only (which as a 6ft 75kg guy, were absolutely swimming on me).
  • The guy sitting next to me in 18B ordered the same entrée as me, only to be told I got the last one.
  • Breakfast - served a good 45min+ after those in row 11.
All up not a bad experience, but the service was much better sitting in row 23 over to LAX. Having done both a few times, I think I'll be choosing the main cabin always from now on. I personally prefer the atmosphere downstairs, and find the noise levels to be about the same.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Febs,

Sorry to hear of your disappointment with upstairs however it leaves it for those of us who prefer being up there. I can honestly say that I've always had great service up there and believe it has a much better atmosphere than down stairs.

I actually quite like the small cabins on the CX A300 flights they have the feel of the upstairs on 747 but have advantage of being close to the exit :)

I second that. My usually travel upstairs and have always found the service great. Got bumped to rwo 23 on my last LAX-MEL flight, and while it was ok, I still prefer the upstairs, even with the smaller overhead locker.

I'm a downstairs kind of guy; I find it actually quite good that most seem to want to be upstairs as I find it easier to get my preferred seating. :D

I'm happy to snare any seat in J using my hard earned points to upgrade from Y :(
