Karma for trying to get cheap status credits?

Nah, I've received many cheap status credits over my time, and can't think of any Karma that has affected it.

Probably the closest is removal of fares that I've chatted about on here - but I tend to think that's a given :)

7500pts - 5k cancellation + 2.5k rebooking.

Tony - original total cost was $746AU, worth it to me and also included a decent weekend getaway.

Didn't turn out as planned but that is life. I am suprised no one has called me an idiot on here yet :D thank you for holding back!!

Mate, I wouldnt call anybody an idiot - specially when it cost me $700 for leaving my drivers license at home!!

Having been a QC member since dot but only ever just scraping into Silver FF - I just wondered if it was cheaper to join QC but like you said it was a good weekend away for $750.

So my question is: apart from bonus points what does SG provide that QC doesn't? cheers

As far as I'm aware (from my many hours of lurking here!), the difference is oneworld status. No real difference if you travel domestically but makes a difference if you travel O.S. on airlines like CX. I'm pretty sure the SGs get oneworld lounge access while QC is only good for when travelling QC, BA and AA?

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yeahhhh!! Hit Gold. Thanks guys.

I wanted to get gold instead of QC because my work travel usually brings me in at 600sc for the year, so this should be easier to maintain. Thats if I don't go for platinum next year :). No renewals fees for this type of lounge access

Hi supersizeme,

Welcome to the world of "free" QC access. I am sure however that you will be soon aiming for WP.

I used to think that WP was impossible after gaining SG. After all, WP was a massive 1400 SCs; basically double of SG.

Now look what's happened to me....

You've become obsessed, in true AFF style :p

Not a great deal of difference between Gold and Platinum unless you are doing a lot of overseas flights a year in which case you will be close to Platinum anyway.

Yes and you have becomed obsessed with status.

I think I am over my obsession. Bookings flights just for the purpose of attaining status just in case you will need that status sometime in the future....

Hi everyone. My name is anat0l. It's been 169 days since I became a WP, and I've come here because I'm obsessed with my status.

Seriously though, it is precisely the international travel benefits that probably make me come back. Travel this year has been fairly opportune as far as international travel is concerned, so WP status has been both worth it, and seems handy enough to retain it as well. I also like the unwritten benefits of WP status, of which I've been able to experience quite a bit this year, too.

Each to their own, as they say.
