Back in November when QF010 was delayed ~180 minutes they let us loose back in the terminal and told we could go to 3-4 fast food stores and simply show boarding pass. I forget the amount. Was it SGD15 or SGD20?
Don't ask me why I stuffed myself at MacDonalds after having a snack in the lounge and then due to get a meal on board as well.
QF31 on Jan 16 was also held in SIN for the best part of 4 hours waiting for passengers from Perth. I had boarded at Sydney, and we were told an hour or so out from SIN that we would be delayed. Continuing passengers were informed that they could present their boarding pass at any of the restaurants in the airport for food and drink (in accordance with their EU travel delay rights).
I hung out in the first lounge, and ended up sleeping on one of the bench seats for about an hour - very little was provided in the way of updates to departure time until boarding was called. Upon enquiring at the counter I was told simply to wait for a boarding announcement.
