Saw an interesting article on US Airways Status Match on Loyalty Lobby.

Does US Airways fly on their own metal from Australia? I couldn't find anything (i[FONT=Georgia, Times, serif]t seems to be all United codeshare).

A requirement of the offer is you fly on US Airways planes.

Does anybody know of any other 'similar' programs or offers any carriers offer i.e. Trials where you buy in to the offer and have to hit a target (they are common in hotel chains).

Thanks mate - looks interesting but you have to complete the challenge to get the status (the way I read it). With US Airways you get the status for the allotted time the challenge is on and then retain it if successful or lose it if unsuccessful.

Are there any other programs out there where you can 'buy-in' to the status immediately so while the challenge is on you can already benefit from the status (as opposed to waiting until you are successful)?

cheers

US fly at least SYD-LAX and SYD-SFO. Found on the USAirways website.

Sure ...but, unfortunately for this buy-in status match you need to fly on US Airways planes ... everything from Australia is United flown - or at least that is what I am presuming/asking?
