We do more than xx million in US dollars but the last two for feeding our cards were 40k and 50k in USD.
Bell FX in Sydney are nice to do business with.
We like doing business with nice folks.

With the exchange rate just a bit short of even I think I might put the $58k land tax bill on our 2 US cards that earn AA points.
I split the land tax bill in half this year so it fits quite nicely on our cards now that the balances have been cleared.
With a bit of a win on the exchange rate I may end up eliminating the 0.5% transaction fee that our WA land tax folks charge.
Sounds like high finance but really it is just a bit of fun to get pointy end seats between London and Los Angeles and places in between.

I might get a cheeky cough award as I did a three way split of the land tax bill with Citi Executive and Woolies EDRCC.

I just closed out the debt on the 2 Citi Executive cards tonight so yes I am in the running for the unofficial cheeky cough award. Citi used .9399 and I used .9392 money from Bell FX on the land tax bill so that worked a treat.
You get 6% less AA points due to the exchange rate being less than 1:1 but AA points are more valuable in easy First Class redemptions in the northern hemisphere.

In London I decided to use the Citi US Visa rather than bother to get a UK credit card. Due to true rate exchange I am getting 1.7 AA points per GBP spend on Visa so I am very happy with scoring AA points this way. It would not work like this with an Australian Citibank card as they charge 3.3% foreign exchange charge compared with zero charge on the US Citi card.

So I've joined AA and I'm now sharing my story regularly at meetings: "my name is quokka77 and I'm a point-aholic".

The Citicard US offer has recently dropped the bonus points from 100,000 to 50,000 AA miles sign on for their Exxecutive card.

Last night MrsCove received a ticket offer for a "sold out" event from Citi US for Billy Joel getting inducted into the "Hall Of Fame" in New York in September along with VIP status. Like Wow!
This AA card is growing in value even if they ignore me. My card got issued a week after my partner as I had to prove I "existed" so I sent them a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) bill and then the card issued.
Citi stopped my card working when I was down at South Coast Plaza and it was a fraud check seeing I was paying some costs of 6 of us travelling on a work trip. A 10 minute phone call to the "fraud section" of Citi got the card back running fine.

It seems to only be 30 000 now! I'm trying to find a decent card for my brother. Any recommendations? This will only be for personal expenses since work ones have to be on the work amex.

Citi Platinum / AAdvantage Card

That's a different card to which cove was referring to

Yes ours are the really good ones that include all sorts of extras like price match refunds, hire car cover and a slew of offers to impossible to get tickets to events. This bank is now too big to fail for me.

Ah found it...but USD 450 annual fee :( Not great for a young person.

You get $200 back, Admirals Club entry and currently 0.9 AA points per dollar all over the world due to no forex fees at all. Car hire insurance could be a biggie.
