can anyone please assist with the mpm of hkg-sju? Thanks
I would appreciate assistance regarding the mpm from Mel to USA via Europe.
It took over 2 hours to get the booking in place, mainly because the agent could not see the MH flight in my intinerary. This was eventually sorted out when I requested he seek help from his supervisor.
Having confirmed all legs he then identified the mpm was exceeded. In round thousands his mpm to NYC was 11,000 where my itinerary was 15,000. We tried various other cities but the position he has taken is that you cannot fly west from MEL to the USA and meet the mpm, the only way to get there is via the Pacific where only coach availability existed.
Can some one advise mpm to NYC and YYZ from MEL and where the mpm information is located.
I have 72 hours to sort this out otherwise I am going to loose a great itinerary. Any suggestions?
Thanks

As this is only my second US div miles booking I am uncertain how to proceed from here. Is it a position of challenging the mpm advised? Any suggestions of how to proceed would be appreciated.
The itinerary is fine. Your first step should be to call up again and try and ticket...all may be fine. If not, you'll need to request a supervisor. If they continue to insist you're over MPM then you'll have no choice but to ditch the booking and start over.
I'm probably wrong but it's in the back of my head... isn't there a different MPM for pacific vs atlantic routings? And is it possible the agent is looking at the pacific MPM?

Thanks to MEL_T pointing out I should grab a MEL-LAX F QF yesterday, I went ahead and put that on hold and continued to spend a few hours looking around w' nothing at all from SYD.
Today, found a SYD - LAX and grabbed that for early May. I'll tkt that soon and then wait till 330 days out and try to work out the return and pay $150 hopefully one off (??) change fee. What will I pay in the meantime though as I'm hoping for ...
CBR-SYD-LAX-JFK (dest)
JFK SFO (stop) LAX SYD CBR. Could I get an LAS in there too on the way back and still be in MPM?
This is the only strategy isnt' it?
Cheers
I would say that's almost certain. The risk is high that an agent will want to cancel the whole booking anyway if you just have a one way and want to add the return.
Thanks, on hold now to book return now. Will they adjust all the miles / cost / and routing later at 330 days?
Goodo, what do you suggest about a stop in LAS as well as SFO w' JFK being the destination?

My itinerary is very direct :
MEL-KUL-DOH-LHR-JFK then YYZ-LHR-MEL(QF10). Its an open jaw, no stopovers. My booking is through to MSY but that created a bigger mpm problem
The agent would not move on his mpm as I was of the opinion it was 15,000 and asked him to check. He put me on hold and then said there was nothing that could be done and it would not be ticketed. The booking is as present on hold with all flights confirmed. Presumably he has noted that the mpm is exceeded.

Often upto 3 indicators are shown. However in these cases there is only one. Past experience has certainly shown that they seem to use this number. An Atlantic routing would not be possible with the numbers the OP was quoted...I think this one is agent error.
