US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Anyone get an email about bonus miles on sale till the 26th of March? I am only eligible for a 75% bonus...

Both accounts (partner and I) eligible for 75% offer, although when loading mine did flick through 25% and 50% before displaying 75%.

There is a good stock of miles in each account, so 75% isn't tempting enough.

three accounts - all 75%.............had everything crossed for a SHARE deal but I know it was very much a dream

75% here but have 200k in stock with all travel booked for this year so not really interested to hold more...

Looks like I have the luck of the Irish (and not Qantas). The 100% bonus.

It seems to be a random bonus per member, rather than a random one per transaction.

Yep: Do you have the luck of the Irish? Buy or gift miles through March 26, 2014, and you’ll get or give a 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% bonus – up to 50,000 bonus miles.* Just enter your Dividend Miles number to find out your mystery bonus.

100% here. put a booking through last week so not sure if i want to stump up or not.

missus got 50% bonus offer.

is there any further update to timing of the swap to AA miles?

Just checked my wife's account and she is eligible for the 100% bonus. Only holding 60k in that one so it must be very random...

my account got 75, mrs got 100

we both buy and use the exact same miles... near enough

must be random... not sure if i should stock up for 2015 trips with OW....

Both myself and my girlfriend got 100%, could be in for one last hurrah with booking something in for the end of this year. My only concern would be flights on Thai and schedule changes!!

Has anyone booked a US Airways award and then rung the individual airlines to provide them with another Star Alliance membership number?

I have Star Alliance Gold through TK. I realise I won't receive any points since it is a reward booking but would like to attach it anyway.

Yes it works just fine. It's worth doing anyway as sometimes the IT systems aren't that great anyway and you may find yourself with the occasional flight credit here and there.

Intra Europe flights in J is costed @ 45,000 miles.

At current 100% bonus rate, it is about $AUD990

1.88 US cents per mile (cpm)

2.2 AUS cpm

45,000 x $0.022 = AUD$990

Quite expensive I thought !

I'm thinking of using it for FCO CDG later in the year.

Have to be one way, too (don't know when, in the next 12 months, the return CDG FCO will happen).

Better off paying cash flying Y ???

Thanks for your thoughts

Intra-europe J is just Y with a seat blocked. I'd just be paying cash unless very pricey. Remember most flights are only a couple of hours max.
