Just as a data point, my sister got a 50% promo. She opened her account 2 or so months ago but has never made any purchase.

I thought the current promo was a general one to all USDM members regardless.

No, I tried with my details and no bonus offered, ditto with 2 of my other family members accounts. Just my sister that got the offer in this round and only for 50%!

Looks like it's targeted MEL. Didn't get the email and when I log in to buy miles no bonus is available.

Oh! I thought with an offer that bad they'd be happy for anyone to buy :)

Not so much in dire straits now I guess ;) They did have quite a few 100%ers in a row though, whereas previously they did alter between 50,75,100. Take it as it comes........... :D

Site looks like it's down. Can't even get to the login page.

Yes, as I said, if you goto usairways.com you get:
[h=1]We're sorry![/h]
[h=2]We'll be right back.[/h]
We're working on the website. Please check back soon or call 800-428-4322.

Now that I have got my 240K pts back. I can start reading this thread again. ....It was starting to depress me seeing all the places AFFers were booking whilst my points were in limbo!

Hi,
Has anyone tried to buy miles on this 50% bonus promo. (I got the offer email)
It isn't so clear when you try to buy, if any bonus will be applied, as the screen doesn't mention anything (even if I did click thru from the email and entered my details).

This is unlike prior offers when the drop down box clearly stated the bonus offer.

thanks
Bob

If the drop down doesn't show the bonus I wouldn't be buying!

Guys,

I'm hoping I can get some suggestions. I need to be in PPT (bora bora) January 2nd (finish our stay on the 7th) for our honeymoon (therefore 2 passengers) I am happy to leave from either MEL, SYD or BNE (preferable MEL obviously anything from boxing day onwards.

Flights to PPT are not every day so that makes it a little difficult, I don't think USDM will get me to HNL? I know there is a HNL-PPT flight...

any thoughts? I know I posted a thread elsewhere but some help from the resident USDM experts would be great.

Another option is to fly to RAR and take Air Tahiti flight to PPT. Of course you need to pay for the Air Tahiti flight segment. Of course you can just do open jaw and coming back directly from PPT.

To select seats on a US DM redemption, I used the PNRs I was given for all the respective airlines and used their portals to select seats, or called them up. For example, used LH website to select seats on LH (for some reason I could also select seats on SQ using this portal), used UA website to select seats on UA, and call TG to select seats on TG.

Is it perfectly normal that updated seating selections will not be reflected when you view the itinerary on US Airways Manage Bookings? I see none of my seat changes reflected, e.g. where selected but no seat was showing before, it continues to show no seat selected; and where a seat preallocated but changed to another seat, continues to show the old preallocated seat.

They normally show straight away for me (with LH and TK, anyway).

correct - USDM often shows the old seat numbers that might have been auto-assigned when you made the original booking. Sometimes if USDM reissues the ticket after a schedule change the new itinerary receipt will pick up your changed seats, at other times it won't, or will simply show nothing.

If you want your current seating you need to confirm via the respective airline websites.
