Those 35degrees seats must have done something to you ;)

Hope you are enjoying your second flight as I post this.

second flight, 777, seat pitch was greater and you could recline about 30 degrees while keeping the footrest part completely horizontal and fully extended... so like sitting up in bed... which was great. the Thai seats can't do that... they start to angle down once you significantly recline the backrest. the asiana seats only angle down once you go to flat mode... which still wasn't flat... but about 170 degrees...

they were comfortable though and I could have slept.

service again was a dream.

the entertainment system was a step up... still not avoid, but they had a menu so you could easily select your film/other show from a drop down list. however... once selected you joined the program wherever it was... so like 5 mins in or 10 mins in... it was not interactive with stop/pause/ff etc. so still a pain...

they were serving cattier champagne... which is somewhat of an acquired taste... not to my liking, but they did have Camus XO cognac which is ok. better than qf biz class.

Thai seats will go flatter than that if you try.

Once fully reclined or sitting up the leg rest will decend. Once you get the backrest into the position you want hit the leg rest up button. This will make it move up about a cm a push but you can do this a few times and up it will come a cm at a time. A bit of pain but a small price to pay for just a little closer to horizontal.

Asiana is a good choice out of Sydney but the lounge in ICN is junk. Looks great but not much to eat unless you like cup noodles.

I tried all of that on the a330... the problem was the backrest didn't recline more than about 30-40 degrees so I was sitting almost upright.

it just left me wondering... what is it that airlines don't get about seating? having a completely horizontal footrest seems essential to sleep? old first class seats used to have around 60 degrees recline, but they had horizontal footrests and therefore very easy to sleep (think of the first class seats installed in the qf 744s when they arrived). they were very comfortable.

agree about the lounge! the j class lounge almost imitates the f one including the grand piano. but the food is terrible! they only had kraft processed cheese singles and a bit of salad until 6pm.

while they had alcohol, I couldn't actually find any mixers!!

for me the lack of avoid is a pretty deciding factor. all things considered I'm now leaning towards Thai over oz for biz class.

When you say lack of avoid are you referring to AVOD ? I haven't been on either airline but I'm reading until I need glasses. I think OZ F would be the choice before TG F. However TG J is better then OZ J . I know you receive a massage In BKK but I have a wife who can do that so no big deal . I don't drink alcOhol so cognac wines doesn't fase me . I do like fine dining and 5* star and of course to have a nap on a lie-flat seat .

Lookin into last yeAr 2010 grand slam there was a promo with the 100% bonus not sure of the exact date does anyone recall who was around at that time ?

yes avoid should be avod :)

if you want grand dining them tg first is the way to go... but honestly, in business class it's all shoved to you on the one tray pretty much like economy... some airlines will serve the main course and/ or dessert separately... but really, thevtray still comes to yuo cluttered and packed, no where to put your cutlery and so on.

if yu don't drink then that is not getting your money's worth :) it's the champagne, whiskeys, cognacs, caviar and pate de fois gras that make f what it is... then off to sleep!

Im aiming for 28 hits in my account and 16 hits in each family members accounts . Those hits listed aren't the cheapest there are a few
Free ones like the toolbar hit. Also if you have points you can transfer from hotel stays. SPG has a promo now if your stay in their hotel for the first time you earn 2000 star points that's enough for a transfer plus a hit for the stay.
I'm going to start doing some more car rentals , track-it-back and a few other expensive ones to get the 65k bonus. Also if you transfer miles into other family accounts that counts as a hit as well so make sure you do it thru the correct links .

I noticed with a lot of items at those US websites (eg officemax), they require US shipping address. Did you get them to deliver to USA address? If not, what did you get so we can "workaround" that?

shanye will have more details, but a friend in the USA will suffice, and I believe there are a couple of people over in flyertalk who have offered to provide their us addresses if need be.

I can't post addresses here PM if you would like more help :) feels nice to be able to help people instead of telling them to research themselves

My sisters is pregnant in the US at the moment, sure she would appreciate baby related stuff if anyone wanted to just buy anything and send to a US address to meet the requirements... :)

Has anyone had past experience with NZ. I have two tickets on hold from lax-akl-syd in J hoping for another two to open up. Im thinking about booking even Y and perhaps waiting then paying the extra $150 to change if it becomes available. Is that $150 per pax or for the whole ticket?

Does anyone know when they release their seats?

Do you mean 80% off a restaurant.com voucher, I have seen those. Have you actually had a hit for this?

Dairius is very helpful . He even organised someone for me from the US that works at hertz to do no-show car rentals. It was $26US per day but i was worried if something happened to the car while i was suppose to be in possession of it , bit too risky for me.

Come on where is the next US airways promo SHARE/GIFT/BUY 100% bonus

hmmm, no show car rentals would be a good way of getting some hits, but your right there is some potential there for things to go awry...
