IMHO having GE (and therefore most importantly TSA PreCheck) is going to save most Aussie travellers more time than Preclearance would.Being cleared before even leaving Australia would be even better than GE

Although, PC at say SYD for all non-stop US flights (LAX, SFO and DFW) where they already have secondary screening, would make the arrival and initial transit experience less painful. Not a lot of use thereafter without TSAPre.IMHO having GE (and therefore most importantly TSA PreCheck) is going to save most Aussie travellers more time than Preclearance would.
Probably true.IMHO having GE (and therefore most importantly TSA PreCheck) is going to save most Aussie travellers more time than Preclearance would.
PC has other benefits too, like being able to connect much tighter at US airports due to skipping CBP and landing at domestic gates (lower airport fees too, meaning lower ticket prices...) and being able to fly directly to airports without CBP presence (admittedly that one's of limited benefit, but it could open the possibility of low-cost carriers ala the RyanAir model)Although, PC at say SYD for all non-stop US flights (LAX, SFO and DFW) where they already have secondary screening, would make the arrival and initial transit experience less painful. The matter raised in your correspondence falls outside the responsibilities of the Home Affairs Portfolio. We recommend you direct your correspondence to the USA Governments Department of Homeland Security. We have not referred the enquiry on your behalf.
Most likely not written by the Minister, but some minion within the Department. But hilarious, anyway.I got a response from the Minister for Home Affairs. Get this:
Naturally, I'm going to reply pointing out exactly why that response is so very confusing.
I'm guessing that you already have access due to being British or some such, since E-3 is a temporary visa which shouldn't entitle you to GE.Data point:
Just successfully added my AU E3 visa to my GE profile at JFK T8 customs. Shows up online.
Yes I had it already with UK PP and ESTA.I'm guessing that you already have access due to being British or some such, since E-3 is a temporary visa which shouldn't entitle you to GE.

I am in the exact same situation as you. I asked the CBP person when I added my E3 to GE and was told that the kiosk would assume I was entering on the visa (even though I also have an ESTA on the UK passport.)I'm in the process of getting global entry using my British citizenship. I'm in the US on my Australian passport on an e3. My British citizenship, Australian citizenship, and e3 info were all part of my global entry application.
How does it work when returning to the US from another country, when I need to enter on my Aus passport that has my visa? Do they link my global entry to both passports?
Good luck! Hope it's not a headacheI am in the exact same situation as you. I asked the CBP person when I added my E3 to GE and was told that the kiosk would assume I was entering on the visa (even though I also have an ESTA on the UK passport.)
I am going back to the US tomorrow so will try and let you know how it goes.
Just went through LAX and it was fine. Kiosk said see agent and she just said “oh it’s because of the E3” and let me through.Good luck! Hope it's not a headache
I-94 Website confirms admission under E3 (not ESTA).Just went through LAX and it was fine. Kiosk said see agent and she just said “oh it’s because of the E3” and let me through.
Quick question on this, I’m in a similar boat. On an E-3 visa but also have Global Entry through dual Canadian citizenship. When you search your I-94, does it come up when you put your Australian passport details in or is it only coming up when you put your UK passport details in?I-94 Website confirms admission under E3 (not ESTA).
The entry record only includes the document you entered on, so while I've got GE through my UK passport, I have no I-94 records when I search with my UK passport (which I've never entered on). I only get results when searching with my AU passport.Quick question on this, I’m in a similar boat. On an E-3 visa but also have Global Entry through dual Canadian citizenship.
