US Global Entry Program for Australian citizens [from 2025]

I wonder at what point they'll advise people of the pause in applications if the 1k has been met. After the system withdrawing my application I have been waiting almost 24 hours for my new background check invite email :'(
I would personally think that after 1000 applications detected it would stop users from applying from the CBP website. But probably not and the unlucky 1001st person will have their application cancelled and *hopefully* refunded or put on hold until Stage 2.

I am crossing my fingers for y'all to getting it done, I have to say I am still quite concerned that CBP is going to go into a crawl from tomorrow with policy changes and redirection. I am thankful my renewal went through quickly in November.

If you are referring to his Majesty Donald Trump. I dont think CBP changes to Global Entry to Australian passport holders will be quite on the agenda. Australia hasnt been in the scopes of his reform gun and I hope it remains that way, I think the 388bn in a singular deal alone is making him happy enough, also given how the true President (ie. Newscorp) is headed by his Australian friend.

While I think unlikely there would be any specific care about Australian entry, although one can never be sure what randomness could happen. I am more referring to last time when resources were redirected to the southern border etc this includes the same resources that process applications, hence wait times blew out massively on applications.

Given how for US residents, to obtain 'Conditionally Approved' status takes months. I think regardless for us its going to be a looong long time.

Was reading on another forum, someone waited 4 months to obtain Conditionally Approved status. Some people waited 3 weeks, others 3 months its all random and given how we are foreign citizens it will be either really quick or really long.

I've applied for this and paid my US$120. Could someone fill me in with the next steps? When do I show my proof that I qualify for Phase 1?

You will obtain an email titled;
Invitation to complete a background check application for the US Global Entry Program [SEC=OFFICIAL]

Where you will create an account with the Australian Government and will be able to apply for the GEP Background Check, where you will also attach your i94 which proves your travel history.

Thanks for the rapid reply, @DirectConnect.
Do you know roughly how long after this e-mail is usually received?

I've already got my I94 in preparation for this application.

I had to re-apply as my application got "withdrawn" in error by AusCHECK in the errors going on yesterday and earlier today with payments; and I haven't received an email for the new invitation and it's been almost 24 hours since submission to CBP.....

TBH I doubt the CBP is that smart. I think it'll be the AUS GOV who pause it not CBP, they won't care but happy to be wrong!

For me it took a few hours.
I'm happy to report that I did get the message a few hours later. I then went and downloaded the phone application (worked on Android even though I did read that it may not), entered my information. I've uploaded my I94 form and am now awaiting contact for an interview (should my approval process progress to the next step).
(It's interesting, and slightly concerning, that my photo wasn't a 100% match - never mind, it was enough to get me through.)
Let's hope that all goes through smoothly.
Thank you to all for your assistance thus far.

To my knowledge, you will not be interviewed by Australian authorities. The information will be verified, processed, background check completed and given the green light to proceed to the next stage which will be obtaining the 'Conditionally Approved' status.

When arriving into the US next time, look for the Enrolment on Arrival signs and you will be questioned, really only basic questions ie. Birthdate, Birthplace, Employer, Travel History confirmation.

Reading the USA DHP info, I understand after all pre-approvals, at next entry present to the correct immigration counter for finger print, photo & brief interview, then your good to go.

I don’t think that’s how it will work. For sure there will be people applying that won’t be eligible, and once the 1000 limit is reached, further applications will be paused for phase 2. They won’t be cancelling applications.
