Hi all,

Please ease my fears.

I am some what confident in my decision but everyone I have mentioned it to thinks I am nuts!

I booked a relatively last minute trip to the USA, when going to apply for my ESTA I realised I just hit under 6mths left.

Now I am enough of a world traveller to know this is a big no no. However for some reason I google and found that the USA don't mind Aussies arriving with less than 6mths as long as their stay is less.

So It shouldn't be a problem.

However as I mentioned before everyone else is saying "are you nuts?". " the airline could turn you away anyway" etc, etc.

And I haven't actually found a single person that has done it. (Maybe cause no one else is as nuts as me!)

So please AFFers tell me it fine!

(I truly do not have the head space with turning around a new passport in 6 working days!)

It's only a big no-no if the country you're going to requires 6 months validity. Not all do.

Stupid long queue on customer service for Qantas!

Where's @redroo when you need him!

I have visited the US with less than 6 months remaining. No issue and not even a comment.

I guess make sure you have a print off the departure date which is prior to the passport expiry.
