Using a US address for AAdvantage account

Does anybody use an alternative US address for the purpose of their AA accounts (aside from those actually living there of course)? Some prior promotions which stated "Available to US residents only' still posted with an Aussie address, but the recent Facebook Passport promotion did not and I would have earned 4.5k if I had a US address listed in my account. Is there any downside to using a US address? I could list my employer's office and get mail redirected, not that much comes via the post anyway.

I think the downside would be if AA goes to a revenue-based FF program. My understanding is that overseas members of such progarms are not subject to the revenue-based rules.

I cant remember anything ever coming in the post, actually.

In my experience (not specifically with AA) a short term change of address can work wonders with promos such as this!

Each year or when changing elite status levels I receive a new card and "welcome" pack via post.

Unfortunately have not had much experience of changing levels with AA!

How do you know you missed out on the miles from the AAdvantage Passport Challenge? I've been keeping an eye out and haven't seen others saying that they've got the miles either. Also, on FB it says that they wil be credited by 20 June, so there's still time. I also have never got anything from AA in the mail.

My understanding from the FT thread was that these would post on or around the 20th June, too early to worry too much.

Have a postal address in Oregon zero Tax rate especially if you do freight forwarding. Shipito is one company the other is free but forgot the name.

That works for goods as sales tax on goods is levied by the states. This is a federal excise tax levied on the entity purchasing the miles and as such can't be avoided irrespective if the residence of the ultimate consumer.

Thanks for reminding me, these have posted for me too. But there have been a couple of cases in the past when I have had to temporarily changes addresses to take advantage of promos! And then change back again!

I have always succeeded in being charge - they do it for me!

Do yiou relly mean something like "Successfully avoiding pay said Taxes"?
