Using KrisFlyer miles on Virgin Australia

Having trouble booking a VA flight using KF miles. NO availability online for any dates under the partner airline tab.
Called SQ and they see no availability either.
They are flights on Velocity.
Any ideas or tips?
Thanks
I booked a VA flight last week by calling the SQ call centre in Sydney. It wasn't showing up on SQ. I got a very helpful and knowledgeable person which isn't always the case. I suggest you try again, might be lucky.

So I have tried Sydney office, Singapore office and online chat. No one sees any availability on VA.
VA says there is no problems and suggested transferring points to them and booking but that wasting points with the conversion rate. There is a heap of flights available to Velocity members on the days I'm looking at in November.

If you're looking at shorter routes, you should check what the points required are through Krisflyer vs Velocity, as there may not be much difference converting the miles from Krisflyer to Velocity as booking through Krisflyer, even with the 1.55:1 points conversion.

For example, a MEL-SYD flight on Krisflyer is 12,000 miles per the award chart, and 7800 points on Virgin. If you convert 12,000 Krisflyer miles to Virgin, it comes to 7742 points - not quite the same, but a lot less stuffing around involved.

Looks like there's no possibility yet to redeem KrisFlyer miles for VA's CNS-HND flights. Japan doesn't appear on the VA award chart for KrisFlyer redemptions and no CNS-HND flights are showing when searching on the SQ website.

Not super familiar with using points this way but random domestic routes seem not to be available to book? Is this still an issue?

You gotta hit the third filter button to the right above the results labelled something like “alliance/partner airlines”.
