Using points to retain Platinum ...

Missed out on retaining Platinum this year, but would be prepared to pay with points to retain/regain it for 2020 as I have a busy year of travel ahead. Is anyone aware if it’s worthwhile calling in to the FF call centre to ask?

If you're prepared to pay with points then just ring and say you were disappointed you missed out is there anything you can do?

Thanks for the encouragement VPS, I’ll give that a go! 🙂

Thanks again VPS. I called them on Monday and the updated status came through yesterday.

Did you have to grovel much or was it just very matter of fact - sure we can do this.

Interesting you ask, as I kind of started the convo explaining why I didn't manage to retain in 2019 and how my 2020 plans are likely to be sufficient (I listed all the trips that have already been booked)...the male CSR then said, not to worry and that there is a way to retain Plat. He subsequently made a big deal about how I had to confirm my understanding that I was prepared to use 120,000 points, which I happily did.

Hi all, had a quick skim thru this thread and could not find my 2 questions

1. has anyone done this 2 years in a row?
2. do you still need the 4 QF flights?

thanks in advance

Can't help you on the first question (at least not yet), but I can confirm that I was recently able to renew platinum in exchange for 120,000 QFF points without having flown a single Qantas (or Jetstar) flight (I am currently based in London).
