Hi all,

I have a flight early in the morning on qantas business class and ive found myself staying overnight at melb airport, just like to know if its possible to use the qantas lounge the night before the flight? I have my boarding pass already which is available 24 hours before the flight to gain access to the lounge, if that helps?

What if arriving Sydney from CNS in J late afternoon, stay overnight at Rydges across road from International Airport, depart in J next morning to Asia, can use Qantas lounge for the stay over night?, or does one need boarding pass to do so?.

International flight into Melb at night leaving Melb domestic in the morning

Sometimes I can't believe posters on here quibbling about a few dollars of taxes/fees. This post takes it to a whole new level

So many good restaurants/cafes in Melbourne to eat

My own disbelief is posters who can't put themselves in other people's shoes.

I world never go into Melbourne for dinner after arriving international say after 5 pm and flying out again the next day. Cost. Time. Tiredness.

When staying at the Parkroyal at MEL, I have been known to go into the international terminal in the evening to get a quick feed, as I didn't want to pay a lot or wait ages to have a meal in the hotel.

I thought the OPs query was quite reasonable, if QP dining was adequate for them.

@Limewood,

If you are referring to the International business lounge:

The answer is:
1) No Because of the curfew SYD airport is closed to public between 11pm and 6am
2) No because even if you had a boarding pass, you need to pass through immigration and they won’t let you go through the day before.
3) And No because even if by some chance you got through immigration the lounge will not let you in the day, afternoon, evening or night before. Lounge access is available only on same day of travel.

Repeat:
Lounge access is only available on the same day of travel:)

.....

I wouldn’t go through the hassle of going into Melbourne city to get dinner if I’m staying at the airport in a overnight transit context. I’d find somewhere to eat at the airport. I know it’s just a Skybus return fare but I’d rather spend it at PJ O’Brien’s Irish Pub Terminal 3.

Disclaimer. My industry super fund owns MEL tullamarine. So please spend your clam shells there.:D
