Personally I think we are going to see a better J hard product - but I don't want the seat pitch to decrease in Y, being 32'' is so much nicer than the standard 30-31 inches on other pacific carriers.

The current Virgin J product is a Sicma Majesty seat. It is an off the shelf product used by many airlines with different trim and varying recline from angled to true lie flat. It's a pretty good seat but in no way luxurious and doesn't carry any brand recognition like the QF Skybed (which I think is a pretty ordinary product despite looking good) I think they may be working on something more snazzy. The Virgin PE product looks thouroughly awful when you compare it to the new NZ PE seats or even QF PE for that matter.

Herringbone ala VS & NZ

I have heard this as well but cannot officially confirm or deny it !

I personally love the VA J seat and rate it over the NZ product and the QF Skybed II

They better keep the J class bar as well..................

Just adding my +1. ;)

Adding mine to make that a +2 ;) having space to get out of your seat and have a chat with other pax is definitely one of my favourite features of VA's J product.

Have only flown in J with a herringbone configuration on CX - not the greatest IMHO. Would far prefer seeing a reverse herringbone like the new CX J (or heck, even the current seat as is with better padding and a better headrest would be just fine).

I find they all have their + and - features but I think a problem with the Virgin J seat from the airlines perspective is that they cannot really show it off and market it. It's a stock standard J product, there is no individuality to it and it photographs rather poorly too. It's a ho-hum product in this sense. QF and NZ can market their products well partially because they have a very good looking seat. I would also say that they are both overall a bit better than the Virgin seat too, it's a bit 'vin ordinaire' ultimately. I have flown this same seat on at least 4 other airlines.
