VA aircraft update requirements?

If there's one thing I don't like about VA's refresh (assuming it'll make the rest of the fleet similar to MAX8s) is that they have gone with USB A ports over USB C.

It’s very frustrating but I think party the tech industry’s fault. The only correct answer right now is to install both USB-C and A charging or else you risk making people unhappy when they have incompatible cables.

CX has started to install seat back entertainment systems from Thales with both USB-A and USB-C charging since 2021 on their A321neo but it seems like it’s still a premium offering and yet to trickle down the market to more basic offering that VA is installing. The certification requirements for aviation use means it’ll likely take a while for these new charging modules to be widespread.

For now I just bring my USB-C cable and a USB-A to USB-C adapter just in case. It costs 6 dollars on Amazon and it’s only the size of my thumb so it’s not a big deal for me.
