It’s urban myth AFF legend.

And there is no such emergency door at all anyway in the area described . You’d have to take a sledgehammer to the asbestos walls at HBA to get through .

Flying international tomorrow with VA, need to be at airport 3 hrs early, am Gold so check-in shouldn't be as bad as for the masses, but then... no lounge to spend all that extra time in. All international Lounges remain closed.
As long as the VIPs are catered for though...

hmm, surely an AFF here will have an answer for you to get into a lounge as VA Gold status.

can't you just enter domestic lounge? I know not convenient, but to grab a bite n drink?

SYD. VA have confirmed that theirs remains closed.

can't you just enter domestic lounge? I know not convenient, but to grab a bite n drink?

The SYD international and domestic terminals are widely spaced, with a decent bus ride between them. And with current SYD queueing dramas, unlikely.
