VA cannot see reward availability on EY

Embarrassing at best. VFF say nothing despite reading the comments in threads. A few days ago VFF was logged on yet nothing on the questions that seem to be continually asked.

Means one of two things usually.
1) Don't know the answer, trying to find out but hasn't gone to social media class 101 of at least acknowledging the issue in the interim
2) Know the answer, it isn't going to be a popular answer so busy running it thru PR/Comms/Marketing to spin it...

I have a stack of VA points and I'm really struggling to use them, every time I see their bloody advertising boasting they are the best FF program according to some 2bit popular voting poll they spam their members for months in advance begging us to vote for them, I choke.

Perhaps if they spent less money telling us how awesome Velocity is and more money fixing availability issues, partner airline interfaces and generally improving their third world website it would genuinely be the best!

Sorry - huge vent, but as a whole VA is doing my head in atm! I really want them to do better! They are so much better than this.

haha this made me laugh.

I would say though, I have still had better luck using VA points than QFF, especially as you can transfer them to KF. It is a real shame that the partnership with EY doesn't just allow you to transfer points to EY the same way.

EY fare buckets for F/J are PFAR/JCDWZ, while for VA code shares FAR/JCD Maximum number shows as 7 on EY, 6 for F and 4 for J on VA.

If say Z which is the lowest fare bucket on EY shows as 6, there will be no F or J redemption seats from VA side.

And seems that all A380 flights are not available at all.

To add another data point (I have been bugging VFF most days this week trying to get in before the devaluation) I have now found two instances where edy4eva rule checks out when trying to redeem F seats on EY. Unfortunatley haven't found any flights that have Z availability yet that work for me. But so far it seems to be a good indicator or what availability VFF see.

2 days ago I booked 2 j class Adelaide to Zurich with etihad return in March next year and there was heaps of availability either via Sydney Brisbane or Melbourne and I booked 2 return j class to Nairobi with etihad for April next year and then that was done on the velocity website as well . I booked a flight to Muscat a couple weeks ago and JNB for feb next year cause the website was showing nil but I rang up and the lady booked it for me, so sometimes there must be a glitch but as I said it worked 2 days ago no probs

Last week booked two J seats on Etihad A380 and A330 MEL-AUH-MUC for travel in a couple of weeks (June 9th). All booked online, easy peasy. Managed to score 1 J seat MUC-AUH-BNE on the 787 coming home ten days later for my partner, I'm going to slum it on a life miles TG F ticket MUC-BKK-SYD.
