VA does "The Business" to its Sample LAX J Menu - Publishes PE menu Instead [Fixed]

I don't believe that is the business menu.

Note that the HKG version explicitly states "the business" at the front, this doesn't. Moreover the annotation at the end says "WE" e.g. Premium Economy, whereas the HKG version says the expected J.

Have to agree - the sample looks like the PE menu...

If you are in the onboard menu section of VA's website - there is a link in the Long Haul Business section for an example of the menu. This is the PDF that downloads when you click that link:

Don't get me wrong - I like mac & cheese as much as the next person. But when I know I can purchase it for $3.99 in the fresh food section of Wooloworths every day of the week.....well that much anticipated long haul dining experience in Business Class loses it's lustre a little. And I'm a scotch gal - so the Johnny Walker Red is like - forget about it. I keep better scotch in my pantry for cooking.

OK, it looks like the Virgin Australia Work Experience kids have been at it.

I presume to save space, they have linked to a PE menu and made it look like it is for Business.

The key is right at the very end of the document where you can see:

WE_AUSLAX_MNU_MAR19

The W is for W class which means Premium Economy.

I'm currently on VA9 (BNE-LAX) in J and can confirm that this is not the business menu; it's PE. Business has champagne different food / beverage options.

Also last page of that document references: WE_AUSLAX_MNU_MAR19 (W = PE). The physical copy in my hand says "JE" (J = Business).

To Contrast, a Menu I have from Last year has this:

JE_LAXBNE_VA6_LUN_JUN18

Wow, there is a noticeable difference in quality. Have VA considered the potential J customer who is perusing those attachments and - for whom, the prospective menu is a deal breaker?

Well spotted! They change to the website means they are only showing one sample menu to cover PE and J - and it would appear they have put the PE menu up for some reason.

It was the Mac and Cheese Truffle that got me. Sorry, I don't regard any sort of Mac & Cheese as real food, it is simply some American's idea of sustenance for who knows what reason. Awful, horrible slop.

Proper mac n cheese is delicious!

Agreed. But everything in it's place. I would be interested to know how many FF's would choose it as a main meal in PE. Anyone care to start a poll?

Lock me in for a resounding "Nay".

I think the nays would have it by a landslide. How long is that menu for, i wonder?

Looking forward to my PE transpac flights in august slightly less now, just more incentive to upgrade to J I guess!

[In a deadpan voice] There's always chicken. Or the beef. ;)
