For further reference....

I had my orignal silver VFF card & then later opted in for the GW. I've just hit gold & they've seen that I've opted in so I now have the GW card only.

So on my control panel, I've now got the silver, gold & virtual cards. It says I can continue to use the silver card's bPay biller code & it will work.

Now I've activated the gold card, I have to see it will work. Glad I've done this before heading OS Jan/Feb.

Argh!

I have so far lost 40 minutes of my day dealing with a somewhat useless call centre for these cards and I’m sorry but you’ve lost me as a user of this card.

I currently have over $2,000 on this card and am completely unable to access it. For some reason they have decided to put a block on my card – except they did not bother to tell me this and they don’t know why it is there.

There is no Australian call centre to be transferred to – or even an Australian based representative.

I only found out when I was trying to pay for my trip (payment due tomorrow) and the payment declined. Thankful that I was not overseas and trying to use it to access my money! Had only used it once to buy a Delta flight and had loaded 2 payments – 1 by BPay and 1 by POLi.

Call centre did not seem to be able to grasp the concept that you can give a merchant the card details over the phone for them to input into their terminal. I kept getting asked to send a screen shot of this…

I’ve been told I will be called back within 24 hours but I am not liking my chances there. Meanwhile I still cannot use my card…

Try creating a virtual card and use that!

We have been in Bali this past 10 days. Both my wife and I have a card each and have had no problems with either of them. We are getting pretty good rates on Indonesian rupiah (particularly when it is not one of the supported currencies)

The poli load has not worked as I did not set up my mobile phone for roaming before I left (required a $500 deposit from our provider) but the bpay option worked. I just had to allow the three days.

I understand there are other products that may suit people but this card is working for us at the moment. We have also benefitted from a slightly higher dollar while we have been away. We will also get a better rate on the Thai baht when we get there next week.

No surprises that I did not get the call back from the manager that I was absolutely promised would occur. Instead she just left a note on the file which effectively amounted to - we've done nothing in 24 hours about this.

Now I'm told they are waiting for my bank to release the funds. Well I spoke to my bank and they have confirmed that without a shadow of a doubt the funds are gone. The fact that they are sitting in my Global Wallet balance probably also confirms that...

My wife's Global Wallet card just arrived, which prompted me to look into how it works for the first time. I read the PDS, which states that loading funds is free, and withdrawals in AUD from ATMs in Australia are also free. Sounds good. But then I activated the card and straight away I'm taken to a screen that prompts me to load funds by either BPAY or POLi, which indicates that there is a $1 fee for either option. I then did a bit more reading and came across a few different articles/forum threads that state there is indeed a $1 fee to load funds, and also that there is a $1.95 ATM withdrawal fee, even when withdrawing AUD in Australia.

Does anyone know which is correct? I'm kind of assuming that the PDS has to be correct - even if there was an error in it I think you'd be within your rights to insist they honour the stated T&Cs. The link is here:
http://www.velocityfrequentflyer.co...nts/internetcontent/vel_global_wallet_pds.pdf See fees on page 20.

The discrepancy between the PDS and the website is interesting. Anyone have any experience with this?

Surely in the case of a dispute, the PDS (on the VFF website) is overriding. It's usually written that way, but I can't find the clause on a quick scan. Perhaps something to be pointed out to Velocity Frequent Flyer.

I got cards for my partner and I when they were released but haven't used them apart from an initial 'test' load of $51 - $50 credit and $1 for the load fee. Checked the accounts this morning to see that a $1 inactivity fee was levied in November. Contacted the service centre - I assume in Asia - and was told that it was an error, apology offered, and the $1 would be credited back to the account.

In hindsight, I think I may have rushed in to get these cards. I thought the card would be a good back up for topping up cash and the fees seemed reasonable. However, of the 9 countries we are visiting next month, only 3 are supported (2 x Euro and Sin $) by the card which, in my opinion, makes it a bit redundant.

Anyway, this post was just to inform about the fee error.

Hi Bazzi, seeing as the program hasn't been live a year yet, you certainly shouldn't be getting changed an inactivity fee. Could you please send us your velocity details via a PM so we can investigate?

Also, there is a list of updated fees on our website (which aligns to the fees listed in the PDS). There was a load fee which was abolished last month, as well as reductions/removals of other fees.

Could someone explain this to me in English? I made a transaction in USD using the virtual card - partly my fault because I didn't switch the thingo on the site to AUD. I didn't have any USD on my wallet.

Purchase DR $50.99 USD
Receiver Transfer CR $52.00 USD (Currency exchange $59.33 AUD to $52.00 USD)
Remittance Sender Transfer DR $59.33 AUD (Currency exchange $59.33 AUD to $52.00 USD)

My previously empty US wallet (that will become very full in the next few weeks) now has $1.01 USD in it.

Mental note to self - if possible, purchase using AUD if in Australia.

I have tried to get onto the site and it is not available at the moment. I have loaded the card numerous times lat month before my current trip to USA. I saw before I left there were load fees. Will they now be credited back to my account?

I think the decision to remove the fees was probably brought in to match Qantas Cash.

Can anyone give me some feedback on how long they had to wait to be contacted after applying online? I applied over Xmas and haven`t heard a peep from anyone.

Sounds like Global Wallet is going the same way as their VFF web page :o

Haven't tried VFF yet as enjoying the QFF version

Is there still a $1 load fee?
Can this be used to pay Postbill pay at the post office 1. At the counter 2. Self service ATM machine?
If you don't activate it is there an inactive fee charge?
