VA Lounge Gold Member "Anytime Access"

Great work, again VA!

It would be nice if Lounge members got arrivals access too. 'Anytime access' I see as a different benefit, but at the moment with departure-only access, paid-up members IMHO aren't really getting the full lounge offering in a sense, which doesn't seem quite right. Particularly post-price rise.

I'd hope it was replicated in the platinum benefits rather than 'moved to'. Surely Golds still earn it too..

Yes it would be nice for paid up lounge members to have arrival access as well.

I guess that as Gold is the highest status in Velocity anytime access has been granted. Will be interesting to see if Gold maintain such access once the Platinum level becomes available.
As a Virgin shareholder I hope the cost of providing anytime access to Gold is outweighed by the new found loyalty of Virgin flyers. ;)

That is awesome to hear. When I travel with my family I always feel uncomfortable taking my two young children into the lounge, knowing that I'm breaking the rules (although I've never been questioned on it).

Last time I was in SYD lounge I asked about passes for the kids (day in SYD booked for next week-end) as it wasn't supposed to be policy for a few more months (or so I thought). The Lounge Angel told me that they allowed a members kids in regardless. When we left the lounge she even remembered and said "hope to see your kids with you next time"........nice touch.

I just hope the Lounge doesn't end up like a day care centre.

Suggestion for VA:

- Publish this on the Gold Benefits Page (here) - replicate the wording from the lounge webpage so that its clear what people get as benefits of Gold.
- Buy some targeted advertising about this on the Qantas Frequent Flyer forum section on this site

I am at the MEL Lounge now and I can't believe how it's transformed from a basrren wasteland to a thriving commuter/busnessperson hub in the space of a few months.
I know it's Friday peak, but it is getting busier and busier.

Thanks to the VA guys for responding to my earlier PM and posting in this thread. It's great to be getting such regular updates!

I'm really looking forward to spending an hour or two in the new Brisbane Lounge next weekend! Should be great.

I really hope more of these are offered as more lounges are opened nationally....
