VA MEL to Paris cheaper than MEL to Abu Dhabi?

Ok I think i've answered by own question. I can see flights for around $2800 each way if I put in for a return airfare but looks like its not bookable as a one way. If I try one way its almost the same price as the total return price.

I'm finding this is the case with nearly every airfare I'm looking at. Is there any airline flying to western europe with reasonable one way J class fares?

Yes I think I can live with that but how do I find the flights at all? Does that pricing come up automatically if searching for MEL-CDG flights in J? Or do I need to do something different? I dont see any mixed class fares listed on their fares page?

thanks for your help!! :)

Just search the dates, on the VA page, based on MEL Paris... The pricing comes up automatically if you search for Business fares... The business fare listed is $2800 Seems to be for some of April dates as well... I only found out about the mixed class fares when I rang customer service to ask why it was cheaper to fly the same flights in J to CDG than it was to AUH.... She tells me that it was a sale fare and was "Probably Economy from AUH to CDG"...

I wonder if you would have good case to argue that the entire trip should be J as they do not disclose the mixed fare at the time of purchasing? It is listed as a business fare....

Also need to mention that it was only on searching a return flight... Couldn't get the same price for 1 way...

At some point in the process (and before you pay), this will be disclosed. I just went through the process and it was pretty clear that the AUH-CDG sectors were in economy.

i.e. PLEASE NOTE - Your flight from Abu Dhabi to Paris will be in Economy class
