Thanks everyone! I will fell slightly less insane when the VA rep gets on here and confirms it.

At least tell us what your entry was!!

Ok, i think i entered 3 times... I didn't keep the exact wording of any of them but the one in question was in praise of priority baggage - on a recent trip from NZ my bag coming out first got me out of the international terminal in front of several a380 loads and to the front of the taxi rank in time to catch my young son for the first time in days.

I assume they will post the actual entry - if indeed i am not totally making this up.

Good stuff... I love me some priority bags lol

Congrats 777 from me too!

The young son tear jerker gets 'em every time.......I should have tried that one on too!

I'm very envious!!

(PS, did you somehow add that Barbara Streisand song "The Way We Were" like the Telecom tear jerker adds all those years ago for ISD?)

Congratulations. Hope you have brushed up your TR skills :eek:

It's a true story. Most of the time "saving time" really just means getting to the plane faster - it's the only time i can think of recently where the time saved was actually really valuable to me.

That's so true 777. A worthy winner.....I can feel the tears swelling up already........

Here's the closest one I can find to you...

So who is willing to tell us their entry now that the comp has closed?!?

Where's the plethora of award-winning (well nearly) entries? Come on all, let's see your form. I expected many, many excellent responses and I'm looking forward to reading some of them.

I know Bundy Bear has posted his, so here's mine......but maybe we should have a sub-forum (if that's possible) for the entries, so as not to detract from the generous gesture from VA/DL by way of this promotion nor the deserved win by 777.

Making Time Fly!

The most time saving of Virgin Australia’s valuable product enrichments?

I could say priority boarding or priority screening. I could suggest the new business class and Lounge any time access delivering me refreshed and ready to go. I could also suggest advance seat selection or the streamlined codeshare agreements, but for me it’s not one of these, but all of these and more. It’s Virgin listening to us. We’ve now an airline not just partnering with their codeshares, but partnering with their customers. This makes Virgin, Australia’s premier airline and my most valuable time saving travel companion.

Firstly, a big thank you to the hundreds of entries for you all.

It's been a big year for our airline, one where our entire company has worked tirelessly to transform ourselves in such a short time!
To have such glowing reviews of some of these initiatives is just fantastic, so we thank you AFF!

Of the entires, clearly our Premium Entry into the Sydney Lounge is a favourite, and its great to see it being used by AFF members as much as it is.
Our Priority Check in and Priority Boarding also received a lot of votes, as did a particular social media team and our efforts at keeping the frequent flying community updated as much as possible - so to you all, thank you! :D

But there has to be one winner.

And it obviously took a lot to decide, but the winning entry was:

After a long trip away my priority tagged bag was second off the carousel – meaning I could get ahead of what seemed like 7 jumbos worth of passengers at the taxi rank and make it home in time to catch my son before he went to sleep. Priceless.

Congratulations go to 777 for showing exactly what a time-saving product is all about, giving you more time for the parts of your life that mean the most to you.
(Though there may be some FF'ers that would say spending more time in the airport would be what they want! ;))

Look forward to hearing more from 777 and his future trip report.

Thanks again for all your support and to the whole AFF team!

Congratulations 777, a worthy winner.

Posted on my iPhone from the BNE VA Lounge, after it was kindly recharged behind the service desk.

For what it's worth, here's mine:

You might say that Virgin Australia’s newly introduced priority boarding and premium kerbside entry saves time, however neither make the plane depart any faster, albeit making the journey more comfortable and streamlined. What has saved me time is the addition of more services and new international partners. A greater selection of flights allows one to tailor their journey to work with, rather than against, their travel plans – to suit my needs as a traveller. In today’s world time is very much a precious commodity, so saving an hour by catching an early flight makes my day that much easier.

Congratulations to 777!

Congratulations 777

Enjoy the prize.

I guess now Virgin know who we all are, because we had to tell them to enter

Great prize though, and good to see it go to someone who contributes much to the forum

haha MarkD... I thought that, then realised I had a retro claim with them through PM anyways, they already know.

so awesome 777, well done

you must be buzzing!

I entered twice. one for the boarding and getting good seats or something, I did it during work, can't even remember it was that poor

Second one I kept... I took a slightly different tact haha

New fare structures make it easy and quick.
Just pop online and take your pick.
Flights now booked, there's no need to worry.
No news headlines to say that they're sorry.

I did Fly Ahead letting me get to Brisbane 10 hours early to see my family gathered from all over the globe for my grandmas funereal. But not expressed as well as 777. Congratulations!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

Finally back on an actual computer...

A big thanks to Virgin Australia for offering this fantastic prize and an even bigger thank you for your excellent choice when judging! Thanks to AFF for hosting the competition and more generally for connecting me up with such a knowledgable, helpful community - you have collectively saved me a great deal of time and treasure down the last couple of years.

I really can't believe i won - slight case of shock right now. I'm also slightly nervous about the trip report but i hope i can figure that out. Does everyone definately need the obligatory knee-tray-table shot?

As i said originally OMG OMG OMG!

Congratulations mate!

I am so happy someone as awesome as you won it, well, especially with such a cool name and all...
I hope you have an awesome time! You reckon VA might let you bring your son? :p

Yes please legroom shot is compulsory. I need to know what I'm in for, for the trip I'm planning to use my points on at the end of next year!
