Flying to Milan soon.
Just wish to confirm that if i purchase a cash ticket via VA code-share I will get status credits and points but forfeit the option to upgrade on points.

If I purchase SQ flight direct and link my Velocity account I get status credits, less points but do get the option to upgrade, assuming I have the correct flight class.

Cheers

The points earn is exactly the same, you will miss out on the status bonus points (50%, 75%, 100% for silver, gold, platinum)

Booking direct with SQ does give you the option of upgrading, just make sure you book a fare that is upgradeable. VA codeshare wipes out any chance of upgrade
