The Etihad search is only for the purpose of availabilty. The points you mentioned are EY guest and have nothing to do with this redemption

You use Etihad to search for available then call VA to book. You need to find First Guest or Business Guest available as per my screen shots.


F for this flight is 187500 VA points as per the partner reward chart ( 9000 miles - 15000 miles range )

J for this flight is 125000 VA points

Sometimes it is not always exactly available.. There has been a few discussions on this matter. I am never sure if the award seat is not available to VA or whether the call centre staff have no idea... It could be a combination of both.

I always act a little bit vague..and the occasional HUACA if I get nowhere.
