VA Plat Upgrade Business Seat Release?

Hi all,

What are the chances of Virgin releasing more business reward seats on say Cairns>Brisbane (VA782) for the end of the end of month?

I called the platinum line where they confirmed there is no availability on that flight at the moment (only 2 appear booked into business).

It appears there is no method of "requesting" a reward seat to be released unlike Qantas?

I normally call about 2 days before departure where they would release more seats if available.

thats pretty standard for the CNS-BNE, if no joy 2 days out, im 100% strike rate of upgrading in the lounge. The bonus with upgrading in the lounge, you get the nice red sticker attached to your boarding pass

Thank you kamchatsky & Muppet501st. I will call Velocity tomorrow to see if they can release one then if not i'll hold off until a few days prior!

I ended up just doing a Upgrade bid for $130 and got approved a few days ago. No reward seats could be released as such and as I'm traveling with family, needed to upgrade.
