Only TWO directs right now for Sat Feb 12.

We have a midday wedding and had booked the 3pm direct ADL-SYD that worked fine.

That was cancelled so we were then booked on 1.30pm direct, and now this 11.35am direct neither of which worked.

I guess I can call the Plat line and ask if they might be happy to put us on the 3.40pm via MEL, but it often comes at a higher cost as that prices more than original direct ticket, being 2 flights.

Not sure how flexible they are re their own flight cancels?

Just a data point - as advised to meabove Platinum line were happy to swap to the 3.25pm departing ADL-MEL-SYD at no cost to us as it was a direct flight they cancelled. Very kind. :D

Sadly those 3.25pm flights now all cancelled, and the LATEST flights out of ADL on Sat Feb 12 to anywhere is now 1.30pm or so sadly. All flights are fluid now, so it may change in next week.

Platinum line were also happy to allow us yesterday to move our Jan 31, TSV-SYD (already routed via BNE) to yesterday's TSV-BNE-SYD due to the foot of rain up there in a day etc, totally stuffed our plans. Much appreciated.

Only fare showing was $799 a person FLEXI, and we were on much lower fare bucket. Took a while, and agent started off saying we were up for fare difference, but relented.

So it appears if you were on a direct that Virgin cancels, they are pretty happy to re book for indirects at no penalty. Not sure if they are more amenable to Platinums, but it never hurts to ask. :D
