I assume many of the faithful here - no matter which camp you are backing - will have subscribed to Virgin Australia deals, and received the latest international sale fares from VA (some of which are quite decent actually).

A couple of small things in the email, though...

V Australia
International Return Sale Fares
...
Brisbane to London $3219*premium economy

And later in the email...

Abu Dhabi on sale until 11.59pm AEST 10 March 2011 unless sold out prior. All other quoted destinations on sale until 11.59pm AEST 14 March 2011 unless sold out prior.

...

Flights departing Brisbane are via Singapore and Abu Dhabi and are operated by Etihad Airways

...

Terms & Conditions

...

An additional charge of $15 AUD per Guest per booking is applicable to all fares paid by credit/debit card.

So firstly, it says that there are PE fares from BNE-LON. I assume that in order for this to work, you would need to fly:
  • BNE-SYD on DJ PE, then
  • SYD-AUH on VA PE, then
  • AUH-LON on EY... but which class?
This also seems to contradict the statement later saying that ex-BNE flights are operated by EY and go via SIN. Unless this only applies to those who purchase BNE-AUH fares only (which may not have a PE sale fare).

Now EY has no PE class, unless they book you into a low bucket Business fare (now that'd be really nice!!)

Next, the T&C says that $15 is added for credit card payments. However, the VA website (FAQ) says that the fee is $25. Did someone forget to update the running text on these emails?

Has anyone noticed the same things?

Sorry if I elided the wrong content out of the email - didn't want to quote the whole lot.

I have asked Virgin this question before, but I was enquiring about Perth - London or Dublin. They said it would be Economy from Perth - Sydney, Premium Economy from Sydney - Abu Dhabi and then Economy from Abu Dhabi onwards with Etihad.

It's a bit of a crock really unless Virgin fly VA metal to your final destination.
