Can anyone who travels J on domestic VA 737-800's tell me if there is a bulkhead in front of 1A or do you stare at the FA's in the crew seat. Thanks

Had to think for a sec but theres a bulkhead with a magazine holder thingy attached to it.

Def a wall/bulkhead between the door and 1A, 1C.

You can see the bottom part of the bulk head in the image below, but it does extend as solid all the way to the top. Virgin also has a curtain across the aisle (you can see it in the pic too) which is drawn during cruise - this not only helps to reduce noise from the galley but also means you don't have to watch the FAs as they go about their business in there.

The plus side to 1A and 1C, you dont see people exiting the toilet, while still zipping up.

My husband prefers the 1D & 1F side and thats the view in the cabin.

Thanks, I've already got 1F so will stick to it, It won't have the sun beating in as well on the route I'm on

The plus side to ... the toilet..
The other plus side to the toilet, is that Virgin is now the only domestic B737 operator that "protects" the forward toilet for business class passengers only.

Jetstar, Tiger & Qantas all allow any passenger to use the front loo on their B737/A320s!

Put the window blinds down?
No thanks, I put some thought into picking where I will sit. I'm out of the sun and still get some sort of view. Otherwise I would just sit at an aisle seat

Perhaps I shouldn't post this, but here I go anyway ... my advice is to forget row 1 and just grab a row 2 seat. Far more leg room and unlike QF, with VA the recline from row 1 is not a problem (I'm not sure if it's a greater pitch or less recline). I do like the VA row 2 ... in fact, IMHO VA do dom J better than QF across the board, with the sole exception of the lounge. VA = QP cough, QF = enjoyable.

Thanks for that insight, I have 3 trips all close together so I will try both. I'm usually a QF man but thought I would give VA a try for comparison

On QF, my preference is definitely row 1, just not an aisle as I dislike having the loo queue do their aerobics in my face, on VA though, row 2 is the go!! :D

No, no, no, no!

Row 1 is always the best on any plane - just so you do not have to see other pax. God I hate sharing "my" ride.

But I'm a SNAF*!! I lower myself to share with the riff raff! ;)

I am not a SNAF - I am a grumpy bugger. The only flight I do not choose row 1 is on my usual SYD-SCL run - there it is the "rockstar" seat - 5J - if I chose row 1 there would be some pleb next to me. In 5J I am alone, and can only see the FA when they are in their jumpseat. I try not to look left in case someone is across the aisle. But usually I am lucky (is there a shadow concept on international?) Last few flights QF did not dare place anyone within my field of view.

If I wanted to share with the riff-raff would do something on JQ. Aaaarrrgggghhhh! The horror!!!!!!!
