Overheard some galley gossip through the curtain over the weekend. Seems later in the week , VA are due to announce DRW-SIN on 737's from January 2015 , to coincide with DRW lounge opening. Had a look at the Silk Air schedules and it would probably be the days that Silk Air don't do the run. Could just be rumours but who knows

Yes its just rumours. Anything said through a galley curtain is just crew and their wishful thinking. In any case whats to get excited about a 737 doing a 4hr+ flight to SIN?

DRW-SIN? 737 is cheaper and smaller... and a wild uneducated guess would be that their may not be the tech facilities at DRW for an A332.

I think silk air use 737's /320's as well

It's the choice of being able to fly VA to SIN without having to backtrack to catch a Full Service Carrier, but better than a regional/LCC.

So what's wrong with SilkAir? Can't be any worse than a local carrier.
