Did anyone else receive an mail like this? Looks somewhat personalised and unlike the previous stuff ups with membership length and number of flights flown, it appears they may actually be accurate with my membership length of time.

I made mention last email like this, that it looked promising that VA may actually be thinking their long term members are something more than just troublesome by-product of running an airline. Let's now see if they actually follow through with the "very best, hand picked exclusive offers".

I recently got a bonus SC offer from QF, let's see if VA can better it.

But it wasn't really a survey. Just asked one question IIRC. "Do you like the idea"!

I assumed that was purely intended to capture how many people bothered to read the email!

So looking at the other thread, it appears so far only 4 of us have received the email? Mine too was received last Friday, so I wonder if that is an indication that it has not been sent to all and sundry. I'm the only one of my family to receive it. 11 years a member seems about right to me and I'm platinum and have been pretty much since platinum was introduced by VA (game change time I think).

I also received the email, and all information was correct.

May I ask if you are a long term or short term member and whether you are a status holder. I apologise if I'm too forward and I'm not trying to be a sticky beak, but I'm wondering what criteria they might have used for the target recipients.

The email reads like they're targeting longer term members, but I have the feeling my +1 has been a member as long as I have and she hasn't got it, so perhaps it's for higher status, perhaps for higher status and longer term members ... or perhaps it's just purely random. It would appear though, that not everyone is getting it.

My email thanked me for my 11 years.

My NR daughter received one thanking her for her last three years (She has earned over 50k velocity in that time, mainly via 3rd party earn).

Aside from her banner being Red at the top, the content was the same.

The survey questions I and she were asked are:

OK, so it is coming to all status levels and some newish members. Looks like it may purely be a random email or perhaps based on recent flying??

Done more SCs this year than any other, by a long way - havent received anything.

Edit: Scratch that, I received a lovely e-mail outlining how I can buy Velocity points to get to my next reward sooner

Hi swanning_it I have been a member for 7 years and platinum for 4 years. I started with pilot gold and retained gold for a few years then to platinum ever since.

So I guess we now wait and see if these "very best, hand picked exclusive offers" eventuate and whether they are shiny trinkets or actual gold. For a very brief time after reading the email, I had hopes for the emergence of possibly the most attractive reward for long term FFers, that being a lifetime status program, however if they were to do that it would be offered to everyone and not via a random fluff email IME.

At least they are now getting the individual stats correct, which gives me a slightly higher hope that they do have accurate records of lifetime SC earn. We know they have kept that info up until at least the point where they awarded that guy who reached 1million many years back, but if my memory serves, back then it was based on points, with SCs being introduced later (or am I mistaken)?

I got it: 8 years (correct) most of those Plat, dropped to gold this year after not much flying last year. I did fly in Nov if they're tracking recent activity?

Nothing to report here either, although I've only been in for 4 years, but rose through Red - (almost) Gold in just over a year largely through flights, but I've relied on family pooling on SQ or DL metal to keep me in Gold/Platinum since then.

I've done practically no VA flying this year though, a small flurry in March/April but my last activity was Queenstown - Sydney leg in July, plus have no upcoming bookings with them yet. So it could be linked to activity as well?? But I don't remember receiving their previous email listing miles flown etc.

Maybe I'm blacklisted

i received the same email ( WP ) 9 years of loyalty etc, but i manage my family's accounts, and my father in law received this offer
