Virgin Australia and Air Canada intend to offer reciprocal frequent flyer redemption benefits on each other’s flights in a subsequent stage of the agreement, with further details to be released later in 2017.

Can we just pause for a minute in amazement that both Air Canada and Virgin have already added the ability to add a frequent flyer number from either partner to new bookings.

We are both Star Alliance lifetime Golds, so lounge access there, and extra bags etc, are not an issue on that basis on AC or UA, but odd this announcement seems to say Virgin Elites do not get access? Still, with no flights, a moot point.

Currently, they don't but the intention is for the benefits to follow.

All AC*G gets on VA right now is the ability to earn/redeem points.

Would be great if you could transfer Velocity to AeroPlan or Air Canda Points.. like it was possible with Velocity and SIngapore Krysflyer...but unlikely to happen ey?
