Problem is I'm four hours drive from Melbourne airport so it make it a long day (and night). I do appreciate your homework though! Thanks.

powervideo,
DJ website today 20/12 still shows saver RTN available MEL-MQL (Mildura) - 21 Dec ....about $350 R/T investment to get your 2 missing sectors to retain Plat.

DJ16156 MEL- MQL(Mildura) 10:25 11:30
DJ 1616 MQL- MEL 12:00 12:55
check in on line, print boarding passes for RTN also, no checked bags,
You could be back in MEL by 13:00
-so only 1/2 day "wasted"?
cheers PJ

I had noted Portland as being rather remote from MEL - for a time I lived in Casterton .... I was a bit too young to fly then.:p

How many SC do [-]you lose[/-] become 'too old' on the special date?

There may be options looking beyond then ...

1350 credits. Here is a low budget commercial I did for Casterton late year. Might bring back some memories!

No, you don't lose 1350 Sc's.

How many SC's did you earn 29th Dec 2011, and after that whyen were your next SC's earned (and how many).

Yes you would soft land to SG, but the WP Qualification stuff recommences and all travel from 30th Dec 2011 is taken into account.

900 since Dec 29, 2011.

How many ON Dec 29th & when was your next flight that credited?

I think there is a bit of a difference to being flexible with BIS status members with a history and handing out status willy nilly to everyone who wants one because they are loyal to someone else and MAY switch sides. As I recall this is what they were howled down about whilst at the same time offering existing status members what appeared to be a lower standard of treatment, from countless examples. Not to say this or any other specific situation should go one way or another.
Absolutely but the answer is subjective and someone will not like it either way.

The velocity rewards web site allows you to view your entire points/SC activity history back to 2010.

Yes I can see the history but no overall balance on that date.

It's the transactions and SC earned that are important!

If you had only 5 earning flights (no earn on any partners), it should not be too difficult.

How many SC did you earn on (or about) Dec 29th 2011 to get to WP and when did you next earn SC's and how many?

e.g.

Going by your OP and assuming your 6th flight earned 20 SC's, on the 28th December you have 920 SC and six flights in the "last twelve months".

For the purposes of this exercise lets say you had one flight which earned 160SC on 29th Dec last year, your next flight was on 10th April this year earning 200 SC.

In that case, on 30th December that Dec 29th flight will have dropped of your "last twelve months" tally and it would be 760 SC and 5 flights. IF before 10th April 2013 you can fly at least three segments and earn another 240 SC's, you will be back to WP with those 8 flights and 1000 SC's.

After 10th April next year, that subsequent 200 SC flight would no longer count so it starts to become much harder.
