VA WP classed as DL platinum medallion/eliteplus - upgrade benefits?

on recent DL booking - DL metal and flight number (US domestic)

the passenger details showing as "platinum medallion/elite plus" below the Velocity FF number.

Looking at: Medallion Benefits

It appears that Plat medallion are eligible to automatic consideration of upgrades.

There is no mention in the Velocity WP section.

Is this an benefit that slides through in the DL system or are VA WP excluded?

(I note that in same DL website above, EC seats are complimentary for Plat Medallion pax but for similarly labelled Velocity pax its a 50% discount according to VA website.

On the few economy DL flights I have had as a VA WP, the only Medallion benefits I received were "Sky Priority" - check-in, baggage, security screening & boarding.

I would have still needed to baggage & priority seating.

The boarding passes are labeled like that, but we are only eligible for the agreed benefits s published on the Velocity site.

And be thankful that it works that way, or like Delta and Sky Team higher tier frequent fliers, there would be no lounge access on DL domestic only flights! :shock:

So miss out on a place in the small, domestic, upgrade lottery, but gain confirmed lounge access at all clubs prior to any DL flight, including domestic ones.

They may falter a little bit at the lounge though,

I used the trick I learnt here and when they got a little bit hesitant in SLC mentioned that Velocity belongs to VA and not VS
