Velocity’s First Millionaire!
On 27 April 2011, the Velocity program celebrated the first member to reach one million Status Credits. This record was achieved by Scott Gore, CEO of Future Assist, a financial services company based on the Gold Coast. Scott is one of Virgin Australia’s most loyal members flying on average three return sectors a week with our airline.
To celebrate this unprecedented milestone, the Velocity Status Team made a surprise visit to Scott’s office to present him with a couple of special gifts in recognition of his achievement; a commemorative plaque, a signed copy of Sir Richard’s latest book, and a holiday package to the USA. Scott was thrilled with his gifts and extended his appreciation to the fantastic Virgin Australia service team saying, ‘…all planes are the same on the inside, but it’s the service that sets Virgin apart.’
In the coming months, Velocity will introduce a number of exciting changes to the program strengthening our commitment to our valued frequent flyers.

Well done Virgin. I wrote to QF asking if they could do something similar when "Up in the Air' came out.....

If he isn't an AFF member already then he should be invited to join and maybe even the AFF Velocity 5 should be changed to Velocity 6.
Congratulations to him ,hope he enjoys his prizes.
Cheers

Well the thing is, if he isn't a member on here it just makes all of us look very sad...

I'm sure this was brought up last month somewhere.

Anyway, I was just thinking some of the staff might have been closer to the number than a member of the public. Didn't crazydave98 commute every week for instance?

Usually on airlines, you don't earn points or status credits for personal staff travel, or also duty travel... Not sure if it's the same on Virgin, but that's how it is on Qantas :)

Nope, don't get any Points or Status Credits for Personal Staff travel or Duty on Virgin.

But imagine if you did... :p

It is the same on Virgin. (The AFF5 airfares were booked as duty travel, and consequently no points/SCs)

I saw this too. That is a lot of flying. I but he is on here and it's Noob or Liam in disguise!

I doubt it - this guy flies a hell of a lot - those too have waaaaaay too much free time - which they spend here on AFF ;)

Its me I admit it. Who wants a free upgrade card for VA? ;)

Noob,

No thanks - I'll have a job thanks. 3 days a week. 5 hours a day. $250K, plus car, plus bonus, (super not included)..

Potentially negotiable.

I think we have once again hijacked a thread - we are so in for a formal warning from AFF ;)

We need the "Children's Corner" on AFF just for us ;)

Same. I don't need the car but give me one of those gold free public transport passes - free travel and would be happy to share a car with Misha if he is willing to compromise. Oh and somewhere that is not too far from where I am. Thanks. And I don't mind doing more hours.

Actually, I didn't really have much else to add Misha. Good idea though. An alternate suggested name is, "Talking cough About cough About Moving In And Around The Air with your hosts...etc." but then where would the fun be in adding such richness to these Virgin threads. Unless we get a special forum of our own. Ooooohhhhh.....

A little Misha/Yogi sub-forum - I do like the sound of that ;)

Straitman - has anyone ever told you how at this time of the evening, the setting sun catches your avatar in a way that makes you look just like George Clooney?

Seriously hoping straitman is indeed a man - else that may come across narky ;)
