As per OP (me), when 'Up in the Air" came out, l thought to myself, "Gee, wouldn't it be great if QF did an article (in their inflight magazine) recognizing their top FF's?".

I also suggested to QF that it would great to read about some real 'up in the air' stories that use their airline (ie; "Here is Mr Z and he does 400k pa.....").

But, you guessed it, no reply from QF (I think that's sad actually, what a great opportunity, but totally missed).

Go Virgin Australia! You read my mind.

Anyways, on another related topic, ua1Flyer will be crashing through the 10 million (yes, 10 MILLION BIS MILES) next month and there is a thread dedicated to this. United will also be holding a small celebration for this event, link below from FT;

IT'S OFFICIAL. The 10 million mile flight will be Saturday July 9th UA 942 LAX to ORD. United will have a celebration planned at ORD and will allow me to invite about 20 FTers to the party. For those local they will provide gate passes. It will be in the terminal somewhere. For those interested United has requested names and email addresses of those coming. Sorry...too excited. The flight leaves LAX at 11am and arrives in ORD at 5:01 pm
