Velocity account suspended

By all means confiscate the points which were transferred against the rules, but banning someone completely for a one time transfer seems a bit much.
Disagree with that. If it’s clearly against the T&C’s I’m more than happy for people to be suspended and hopefully stop the dodgey movements of points.

If you don’t fly them, does it even matter?
VA and QF can only police their rules. They can’t cross check your accounts to see if $ has changed hands.

Was their account also suspended?
Not sure, I assume not at the time and I've not spoken to them since, they've not said anything to me directly so it's hard for me to say.

I'm not saying I don't disagree with the rules, just surprised it happened.

If they suspend you, if you open one up later is that possible?

Yep, that'll do it. You can't transfer or pool points to family members not living with you.
Transferring to friends doesn't fit either of these requirements (living with you and a family member).
For pooling they have to live with you. For transfers they do not.

Anyone else get their account suspended today?
I've got no family pooling. Last year I transferred some points from SIA and redeemed a flight 10 days ago. No idea why suspended.

Nope, all fine here. You haven't pooled to anyone not living with you in the last 12 months?

Possibly someone has tried to hack into your account. Time to call them up to find out what's what.

Is your redeemed flight still showing?

Dont think I've ever done any pooling.
Yeah maybe it was a hack attempt. I did call them up and they gave me the standard line its under investigation and you will hear from the team in 30 days.
I've already taken the redeemed flight so dont need to worry about that.

Did you, by chance, bid for an upgrade for your recently redeemed flight?

I've just had my account suspended, I changed a family pooling account yesterday (incl. address for my grandpa) does anyone know how long this will take and what the next steps are?

I have done a bit of point transfer in the past 2 years but only to family and never sold points or bought points

I have about 500k points in my account and am a Platinum member

Was your grandpa living with you while a part of the family pooling arrangement?

This thread makes me nervous. To my knowledge, I’ve never done anything against the rules, but stuffed if I know if my parents address was correct at the time I did a family transfer X years ago. I had a large stash of VA points that I had planned on shifting to KrisFlyer late this year, but I transferred them last night.

Yes but not has move back to parents in law due to medical conditions - but only his address was changed he wasnt pulled to my account, this is the only thing I can think of?

Family transfers aren't generally the issue...bogus family pooling is the thing that is more likely to get you suspended.

Are you in the same situation?

Assuming their website is not smart enough (safe assumption) to alert you to no longer valid pooling arrangements when making address changes then yes, that will be your issue. But I would be prepared to show evidence you did live in the same household.

I didn't have any pooling set up on my account, I have booked flights using my account for flights and have transfers/ received transfers from family in the past 2 years, will this have caused it?

But his account was never pooled to mine, only his address on his account was listed as ours when he was living here. I changed his account address yesterday and pooled it to my mother in law

BUT why would my account get flagged, because the address is the same or my mobile is listed on the account? we have only done a family transfer but not pooling

Any idea how long this investigation will go for?
