Velocity and Optus Partnership

As for whether Optus would want to do a credit check (worthiness check): (Nathant123), they probably would.
I wanted to go with Optus post paid, a long time ago, I went to a booth at my shopping centre, they did their credit check, asked me how many hours I worked, and in what capacity, I am a part timer with several cleaning assignments, they as in the call centre that the booth person contacted declined, saying I didn't make it, as it didn't get approved due to info provided.
They probably deemed me a risk of not paying my bills.
I would assume that things have not changed, so if you want to try, they might approve it the first time, but after, they might decline.
Best of luck anyway.
I am still with Optus, but the booth guy told me, just go prepaid.
But this current bonus VFF & Optus deal, does not cover prepaid.
Edit: hmm, looks that sometimes, checks get approved even after disapproval, there is a about 25 replies from a question about Optus credit checks, on the Optus Yescrowd website.
I don't dare to put in a linkage, but if you google it, it will be the first to come up, ((Optus credit check criteria, 10/04/2018)).

Australia's highest-earning Velocity Frequent Flyer credit card: Offer expires: 21 Jan 2025
- Earn 60,000 bonus Velocity Points
- Get unlimited Virgin Australia Lounge access
- Enjoy a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight each year

I wonder if they'll just keep extending this indefinitely?

Interestingly, the original offer was for up to 40,000 Velocity points. The last one was up to 20,000, and now it's 30,000 points.

I'm watching closely - Virgin Mobile recharges will no longer be available from next month. I have a group plan with four 'phones and am hoping it all lasts until May as originally advertised.

Is that group plan a personal plan or business?

My account manager keeps saying business plans not eligible

It's actually personal. Current cost is $110 per month unlimited calls and a total of 13GB in "Giftable" data which can be rolled over.

But I note this in relation to business:
Does this offer apply to Small to Medium Business (SMB) Customers?
Yes, an SMB customer (excludes Tech Fund and Fleet) can take up this offer with a consumer plan. They can also include their ABN/ACN to receive Business Fast Lane and Premium Support.

All links to Optus seem to be down at the moment.

Also we just dumped our NBN at $80 / month and 24Mbps for Optus 4G wireless at $68 / month and speeds of 200+ and up to 300 Mbps

does anyone have T&C for this offer from Nov 2019 where it states 3 months free plan? Optus has charged me for plan despite being 3 months free

What’s the likelihood of receiving the bonus points with the current circumstances?

I don't think the current situation would affect this, to be honest. It's still possible to earn Velocity points and Optus would be the one paying for the points here.

In the latest spam email from Velocity I saw my point balance, which was zeroed just before they shut the rewards store, had jumped back up to 30,000.

I had switched back to prepaid in early May and was fine with missing out on any bonus points, especially given the future of the program is uncertain.

Now I have 30,000 points and no way of tangibly realising any value from them.
