What are your thoughts on a Velocity App for iPhone / iPad / Android. For the moment everything must be via a website, why cant they be like QF and release an app :)

Is it something that the community will appreciate ?

A 'virgin australia' app that combines the current flights specials app with all the frequent flyer features like the Qantas app would be lovely.

However, I would rather they combine the VA and Velocity websites together for the time being and fix all the stuff that doesn't work.

I agree, its a pain in the neck to view the VFF website on an iPhone... But much is still to be done with the actual websites themselves - Maybe a basic mobile site like they already have working for VA? OLCI/Seat Selection works like a charm for someone still a Gold member, yet tries to secure the most forward window seat, if not Row 3, on every flight.

With the mobile site, be able to view recent transactions and book reward seats? Be a step somewhat in the right direction. Can't be that hard, right? (I take that back really)

Considering the website(s) are still a disaster more than one year after the Sabre cutover .. yes, yes it can. Granted there have been improvements, but basic things like being able to work with corporate agent bookings and having access to partner award availability online (stuff that *used* to be available..) still need to be fixed and I for one would rather they fixed that rather than putting resources in to creating an app.

Hear Hear.... As I said, we really are all here not expecting miracles (I assume VA have hired people that know what they are doing Web Dev. wise.... Then again, maybe not)
We just want things to work first! Then bring on real enchantments :) Not the ones like QF will bring out this week....
