Not sure if this has been covered before, however when travelling Trans Tasman in J, BNE to CHC the mileage is 1,553 miles. Normal points are doubled for a business fare = 3,106 points. I would have thought the 75% gold status loading was calculated on the 3,106 miles giving a total of 5,345. Velocity only credited 4,271 being 3,106 plus 75% of 1,553 (not 75% of 3,106). They state that the 75% loading is on top of the base points. Do the extra points arising from a business fare not count as part of the base points?

The base points are based on the 1553 milage and not the cabin bonus

Not 100% sure, but this extract from the Velocity website would indicate otherwise:

"*Points bonuses are earned in addition to the base Points earned. Base Points means the minimum number of Points which would be earned for an eligible activity or transaction by all members, irrespective of Velocity membership level"

As the minimum earned by any member in J cabin would be 2 times mileage. Therefore this should = base points.

Then bonus should be calculated on this.

It's been covered a couple of times and yes, the bonus points are calculated on the base points rather than what you earn from flying in W or J.
