Velocity booster points

Does anyone here know if booster velocity points are credited to your balance immediately they are purchased, or if there is a delay? The FAQ on the Virgin web site (as far as I can see) doesn't make this clear. Thanks.

I’ve used it a few times on and off, always appeared immediately, although I had to log out and log back in to get the updated balance.
