Velocity Frequent Flyer Program Update

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I called velocity again this morning who confirmed again & again that I could change my ticket as long as there was availability. I asked 'so could I keep paying $60 & roll it forward indefinitely' & was told yes & I read the wording from the website & was still told I could roll it forward more than 1 year post initial booking date. She has messaged my tickets & VA account that I have purchased my tickets intending to travel in Aug 17. I guess now all I can do is wait until the dates I want become available & see what happens....

thanks for for the call out Cryptarcadian!

That sounds promising! I'll be in the same boat later, trying to move an existing pre-devaluation booking forward.

Thanks for chasing up and sharing the answer, PDog!

Thanks! I just looked it up too, and it says:

It sounds ambiguous whether the OTD is the original booking date, or the original flight date?

I just recently changed booking traveling on EY Y class 16-Jun-16 to Apr-2017 that was originally booked back Nov-2015 and in about a week or so I'm going to move another same was booked last November to fly Jul will be moving it to May-2017 (Bus class) once dates open.
Interesting with the initial booking I moved they credited to my account the points difference 62.5k to 75k then they credited back 62.5k then booked new flight for 75k + charge me small sum for additional taxes. So I could change the date of that booking again and I have the 75k to cover it.

am wishing I'd booked mine pre-devaluation now.... I just thought then that was pushing my luck :-(

Don't feel bad, the difference between pre- and post-devaluation is a drop in the ocean compared to saving the EY reward seat charge... especially once you're looking at multiple sectors return!

Just to update, our departure date became available today, so have changed our pre-ridiculous-Etihad-surchage purchased tickets from May to July 2017 and was only charged the $60 change fee per ticket. No concern that I hadn't paid the surcharge or that the flight is >12 months after the original ticket date.
Happy days!!

I assume you're flying J or F. Do you still get chauffeur service?

We're flying J. Am yet to call Etihad to solve that and seat selection- it can wait till next week. (I believe we're beyond the range for MEL airport, but England has a very generous 100 miles!)
