Has anyone upgraded to Gold lately ? I am interested in how long it takes for you to get the card?

I will qualify this weekend and am flying again in 11 days and then again in 3 weeks. just curious if I may receive it by then (probably being optimistic). Noted above was the 2-4 weeks during the matching period, but wasn't sure if that was normal or just during that period when it was busy.

i got mine after six weeks of qualifying, but that was during the period Virgin was status matching Qantas FF, thats why it took so long. But now i think it should take around 2 weeks. But i wouldn't know.

Mine took two weeks. But I assume because it upgrades overnight on your profile that the silver card will have all the updated info on it anyway

Mine took about 2 weeks also. Not an issue if you're only flying DJ, once your status upgrades online (usually the day after achieving required SC), your silver card will have all info on it, as MadFairlane says.
The only issue may be if your other flights are not on DJ. E.g. if flying Etihad it may pay to take a printout of status and also the listed benefits of Gold on the Virgin website etc.
