Velocity Gold Status and Singapore Airlines

I am flying SGN-SIN-SYD on value Y fare, cannot select seats (without fee) although VA number is in the booking - seems the seat selection is related to the fare rather than VA status (noting on SQ website, KrisFlyer Gold and Silver can select for free regardless of fare).
Complimentary seat selection is not listed as a benefit. I have not been able to select seats in economy as a WP for free unless booked as an award.

I fly to Davao in the Philippines regularly as Velocity gold but Singapore Airlines is discontinuing their service there and replacing it with Scoot. I already know I won't earn as much status credits and have lounge access when the onward fight is Scoot anymore.

Does anyone know if the final leg of a Singapore Airlines booking is operated by Scoot, if the 15kg additional baggage for Velocity Gold is included for the entire trip?

Don’t know for sure but if the bag is checked through and the agent isn’t in a bad mood then they should check it with the extra allowance no problem. In the other direction though, I doubt you’ll be as lucky.

Old thread but just in HCMC flying to SIN and SYD on the way home. Gold with VA which got me into lounges on the way over, plus seat selection and priority boarding. This was a points ticket. Checked in at Business this morning and there was no status on my BP. Got to the lounge (Le Saigonaise, not SQ) and was asked for a separate lounge pass which I didn't have. Got told nicely (after she checked) that I couldn't get in but would be able to in SIN. Wondering now if I get priority boarding. It says "group 6" which doesn't sound promising.

Thankfully I still got into the Gold lounge in T3 Changi. Nothing on my boarding pass but I showed my digital VA Gold card which did the trick. I think there we nothing on the BP due to the counter in HCMC being staffed by airport staff not SQ staff.

VA status doesn't grant access to third party lounges when flying SQ. But if you're flying Business then you do get access.

That indicates your Velocity number was not in the booking.

It is hard with award bookings as SQ don't want (or generally allow) anything other than a KrisFlyer number.

I have had OLCI BP's in App. showing group 6 but after getting the BP's from the check-in counter and asking them to insert my Velocity number, the refreshed BPs show group 2 or 3.

Makes sense. I was under the impression SQ had a lounge there but when I saw one called "Apricot" and this one I wondered if it would apply. Didn't check for Amex entry, I get one of those per year which I rarely use.

I thought about doing something but as we both had tiny hand luggage (checked the test as we were on our way home) it was no big deal. Flight was probably 3/4 full.
